Apply to become a beta tester

Thank you for your interest in testing an early BeltBolt device! To get started, please first thoroughly read the information for prospective testers linked below.

Are you a chastity creator?

If you create chastity content or art online, we’d like to hear from you. If you would like to trial a production-ready version of BeltBolt when the time comes, let us know!

This programme is not for beta testing – if you’re interested in testing a prototype, please read the information on the page you’re currently on and apply at the bottom.

How do I apply?

We’ll ask you a series of questions related to your experiences with chastity and e-stim/shock devices, what you are hoping to get out of testing and where you are in the world. We don’t need your address or other personal details (other than ways to contact you) at this stage.

What happens once I apply?

After submissions close, we’ll look through all the applications and contact a number of applicants to offer test units. We’re making BeltBolt on a shoestring budget so our number of test units is limited, so we’ll be trying to prioritise a variety of chastity enthusiasts with different use cases. We’ll contact you regardless of whether you’ve been selected this time or not. If you’re not selected this time, please keep your ears perked for other testing rounds in future!

How do I maximise my chances?

Someone’s keen! Well, we’re looking for people who are experienced with chastity, who are hoping to use BeltBolt regularly, and who can provide us with detailed feedback over time. The more detail you provide us, the more likely we are to consider you. Keep in mind that if there are a large number of people with similar devices or use cases, we’ll prioritise diversity in these respects so we can ensure BeltBolt works for as many people as possible.

Due to the value of test units, we have a few expectations of testers:

  • The more detail, the better.

The more we know about your experiences with BeltBolt the better we can make it. We’re looking for testers who are excited for new kink gear like this, and who also want to provide detailed feedback to help bring it to reality. You can provide feedback in any way you wish – detailed notes, photos, audio or video are all great!

  • We’ll need to see it on you.

We don’t need to see your beautiful face, but we will need to see how the device fits to your device and how it fits to your body. This is crucial for assessing the fine details of fit, finish and ergonomics.

  • You’ll need a way to measure your chastity device.

It’s likely that if you are chosen as a tester in the first round, we won’t have designed a mount for your exact chastity device before. Therefore, we’ll need some measurements. You can do most of these with a standard ruler or tape measure with mm (millimetre) markings on it, but if you have a set of cheap digital calipers, this will help a lot with making your mount. If we think you’ll need a precise measuring tool for your specific device, we’ll let you know, and we’ll help you get one if needed. We expect most devices will only require a measuring tape or ruler.

If you have a custom chastity device that was made to your exact specifications, or one you made yourself and that you sell, exact dimensions, technical drawings or 3D model files are highly preferred. We will of course not share these assets and will only use them for the purposes of making mounts.

If you’re chosen as a tester and you have a cage and not a belt as your preferred chastity device, we’ll also need you to provide measurements of your body. This is to ensure the Biothane belt we provide for mounting the controller to your body will fit well. A standard tape measure for tailoring will be sufficient for this.

What will I need?

You’ll need a few basic bits and pieces to be a tester, but you likely already have them. A smartphone or camera, a measuring tape, your favourite USB-C cable and a bit of a nerdy interest in this sort of thing. Oh, and you’ll need a chastity device.

To complete the application for becoming a tester, you will need to have a measuring tape or other way to measure some basic dimensions of your chastity device.

We will supply you with a toolkit to take your test device apart and modify it if required.

Is my chastity device suitable?

We are accepting applications from people with most types of chastity devices, but BeltBolt’s full feature set requires a sensor that fits inside a penis tube. We’re working on support for other anatomy and devices as you read this, but for this first testing round, we’ll be prioritising testers with devices like these:

  • Chastity belts

All belts with enclosed and semi-enclosed penis tubes are supported.
Belts that have a penis tube comprised of only one or two narrow bars may be supported, but might require additional hardware.

Belts that have an outer shield but no penis tube that you can “strain” against are not possible to support.

  • Chastity cages

Most enclosed cages and a large number of bar-style cages are supported.
Cages which are particularly short may be difficult to design sensors for.
Flat and inverted cages cannot currently be supported.

  • Chastity piercings

If your chastity device is solely a piercing, we’re unlikely to be able to support BeltBolt working with it. Please contact us with more information about your device.

If you don’t have a device like this or have different anatomy, please still apply if you’re keen! If you’re unsure whether you meet our device prioritisation above, please contact us.

Safety and legal information

By applying to test with BeltBolt, you declare that you meet the following requirements:

  • BeltBolt is for adults.

You must be at least 18 years old at the time of application to take part in the testing programme, and you must not allow anyone under the age of 18 to use your test device.

  • E-stim and shock collars are not inherently safe.

To apply, you must agree to follow the safety instructions provided, especially with relation to electrode placement. Although the risks of using devices like BeltBolt are low, they are not zero. BeltBolt uses widely-used shock collar modules for its main shocker system, but you use the test device at your own risk. By participating in the test programme, you agree to use the test device entirely at your own risk and accept responsibility as such, outside of negligence on our part.

  • You cannot have health conditions which heighten risk.

We cannot accept testers whose health would be endangered by using BeltBolt normally. If you have a cardiac or other health condition which opens you to higher than normal risks from e-stim, we cannot accept you on the testing programme. This includes those taking medication or undergoing treatment which results in similar heightened risks. We cannot accept pacemaker users on the testing programme. Please contact us before applying if you are unsure.

  • You must use BeltBolt sensibly.

Keep in mind that you are receiving a pre-production device, which may behave in unexpected ways. You can use BeltBolt however you please, as long as you are not unduly endangering yourself or others by doing so. Your test device will be provided with no warranty, guarantees or protections under the relevant consumer protection legislation (outside of statutory minimums for prototypes).

  • You must comply with the law.

If e-stim and shock collar devices like BeltBolt are unlawful to import, export, use, wear, or possess where you live, you must not apply for the testing programme. When using BeltBolt with others, you must obtain consent to do so.

  • You agree to act in good faith.

Please don’t apply to test BeltBolt to get a free cool thing and vanish. We’re building this on a tiny budget, and we expect testers to participate and provide feedback. We’re really keen to get this cool gadget out into the world, and we expect testers to be genuinely interested and enthusiastic in helping that happen.

If you apply and are accepted, this is not a guarantee of receiving a test unit. If we think you aren’t acting in good faith or you don’t provide crucial details like measurements etc within a timely manner, we may choose another applicant. We’ll not do this lightly, but we reserve the right to remove any applicant from the testing programme.

  • Postage, customs and ownership.

Although we’ll likely be happy to, unless we agree with you directly that you can keep your test device, it will remain our property. If that happens, we’ll honour a standard warranty and you’ll be entitled to your statutory consumer protection rights from the date you were given ownership. If we need the device back, we’ll cover your postage and packing posts. We will declare packages sent to you honestly on customs paperwork, and we can cover small customs fees. If you are applying from within the United States of America, we cannot guarantee coverage of import duties for your test device. If you live in the US and are accepted as a tester, we’ll discuss this with you directly.

  • Radio frequency compliance

BeltBolt, like OpenShock and PiShock controllers, use Low Power Devices 433MHz standards for communication with shocker units. This is available licence-free almost everywhere in the world. In the United States of America, it is not by default licence-free but the shockers we use comply with FCC Part 15 regulations. You can check out the FCC compliance documentation here.

Have you read everything?

We really need you to read everything before applying. If you have, thank you, please get stuck in! If not, please take this opportunity to familiarise yourself fully.

OK! Let’s get started.

Our testing programme is now closed for new applicants. However, we’ll have future calls for beta testing hardware later this year! If you’d like to hear about new opportunities as soon as possible, join our Discord or follow us on social media.
