Interested in testing?

If you want to be a tester, you’ll need to apply when calls open. We’re likely 1-2 months from getting the first devices out to testers. Registering your interest in advance may result in you being proactively contacted to test.

What to expect from testing for BeltBolt

If you are accepted as a tester for BeltBolt, you will be sent a form to record your details and preferences for your test advice, which will be provided for where possible. Different testers may be sent different specifications of devices so you’re not guaranteed to get the exact specification you request, but I’ll try to accommodate as much as possible. We’ll make sure your BeltBolt device is compatible with your preferred chastity belt.

You will receive your prototype device using recorded/tracked post to the address you specify, after which you’re encouraged to test it regularly in the ways you’d like to use it, whether as part of play sessions or as everyday wear in addition to your chastity device.

BeltBolt straps to your hips using a chastity belt waist-/hip-band and is comprised of a controller box, sensor assembly and electrodes. The sensor assembly goes inside your chastity device tube, and the electrodes are mounted to your belt wherever you wish. Advice will be given to testers on how to do this properly. The device runs on battery power, and is charged via USB-C. You will need to supply your own charger (any USB-C cable will work, and the prototype will not support fast-charging via USB-C Power Delivery). You will also be supplied with an instruction booklet, a safety briefing, a screwdriver for opening the controller, and an additional set of electrodes.

Your prototype will be upgradeable with new firmware as the development process continues, and you’ll be provided with the instructions on how to do this. BeltBolt upgrades “over the air”, using your home Wi-Fi network, so to upgrade you will need to connect it to the internet. If you don’t have a Wi-Fi network, you will be able to manually upgrade it by connecting it to your computer. If you receive a prototype that works for you, after testing is complete, you may be able to keep the prototype, but until it’s decided, the prototype will remain property of BeltBolt for legal reasons. If you need to send BeltBolt back to us for any reason, we’ll provide you with pre-paid shipping labels or will reimburse you for postage costs. Although BeltBolt is designed to be a tough device, please don’t drive over it with a car or put it in your washing machine – test units may not be up to the same standards as the production version! You won’t be liable for any accidental damage to the device, though – that’s part of the testing experience. Testers who want to get a production version will get a hefty discount, or if you want to keep your existing test unit, we may be able to help you get compatible parts to upgrade it. Keep in mind that although we will release parts lists for the production version to enable cheap repairs, test units may have different mounting holes etc, so we may need to find you other components.

Who is prioritised for testing for BeltBolt?

We’re making BeltBolt on a pretty shoe-string budget, and as much as we’d like to get everyone a test unit, we do have to be a bit picky. We’re particularly looking for the first batch of testers to be as many of the following as possible:

  • Owns a full chastity belt or suitable cage and is experienced wearing it;
  • Has some experience with e-stim or shock devices;
  • Has a keen interest in testing not just one version of the device and who wants to try later hardware revisions;
  • Wants to test a waterproof version through longer-term wear (days at a time), and others who want to test a non-waterproof version for shorter periods;
  • Is keen and able to provide detailed feedback on their experiences with it, good and bad;
  • Is comfortable privately providing photos showing themselves wearing the device to help develop ergonomics and fit/finish;
  • Lives in the UK or the rest of Europe, or the US or Canada, for postage simplicity, but this is lower priority.
    US-based testers: you may be liable for import tariffs. We are legally required to declare BeltBolt at its real value. If this is an issue, please contact us and we may be able to send you it in a different form with a much lower value.

Notes:

  • If you don’t fit all or even most of the criteria above, please do still apply! You may have a particularly interesting device or use case.
  • Some cage testers may be chosen depending on development progress. The first version of BeltBolt is intended to be worn with a chastity belt, but we are actively working on making it cage-compatible too.
  • We want to test a wide range of chastity device models and configurations, so if you have a weird one, you’re encouraged to apply.
  • Each tester will have a private channel on the BeltBolt Discord server (if you provide your username and you’re in our server) where only you and the developer will have access, so feedback sharing is private.
  • You will be able (and indeed encouraged) to talk about testing BeltBolt to friends and on social media – there’ll be no non-disclosure agreements etc.

Is my chastity device suitable?

We are accepting applications from people with most types of chastity devices, but BeltBolt’s full feature set requires a sensor that fits inside a penis tube. We’re working on support for other anatomy and devices as you read this, but for this first testing round, we’ll be prioritising testers with devices like these:

  • Chastity belts

All belts with enclosed and semi-enclosed penis tubes are supported.
Belts that have a penis tube comprised of only one or two narrow bars may be supported, but might require additional hardware.

Belts that have an outer shield but no penis tube that you can “strain” against are not possible to support.

  • Chastity cages

Most enclosed cages and a large number of bar-style cages are supported.
Cages which are particularly short may be difficult to design sensors for.
Flat and inverted cages cannot currently be supported.

  • Chastity piercings

If your chastity device is solely a piercing, we’re unlikely to be able to support BeltBolt working with it. Please contact us with more information about your device.

If you don’t have a device like this or have different anatomy, please still apply if you’re keen! If you’re unsure whether you meet our device prioritisation above, please contact us.

Safety and legal information

By applying to test with BeltBolt, you declare that you meet the following requirements:

  • BeltBolt is for adults.

You must be at least 18 years old at the time of application to take part in the testing programme, and you must not allow anyone under the age of 18 to use your test device.

  • E-stim is not inherently safe.

To apply, you must agree to follow the safety instructions provided, especially with relation to electrode placement. Although the risks of using devices like BeltBolt are low, they are not zero. BeltBolt uses widely-used shock collar modules for its main shocker system, but you use the test device at your own risk. By participating in the test programme, you agree to use the test device entirely at your own risk and accept responsibility as such, outside of negligence on our part.

  • We need to know you’ll be safe.

We cannot accept testers whose health would be endangered by using BeltBolt normally. If you have a cardiac or other health condition which opens you to higher than normal risks from e-stim, we cannot accept you on the testing programme. This includes those taking medication or undergoing treatment which results in similar heightened risks. We cannot accept pacemaker users on the testing programme. Please contact us before applying if you are unsure.

  • You must use BeltBolt sensibly.

Keep in mind that you are receiving a pre-production device, which may behave in unexpected ways. You can use BeltBolt however you please, as long as you are not unduly endangering yourself or others by doing so. Your test device will be provided with no warranty, guarantees or protections under the relevant consumer protection legislation (outside of statutory minimums for prototypes).

  • You must comply with the law.

If e-stim and shock collar devices like BeltBolt are unlawful to import, export, use, wear, or possess where you live, you must not apply for the testing programme. When using BeltBolt with others, you must obtain consent to do so.

  • You agree to act in good faith.

Please don’t apply to test BeltBolt to get a free cool thing and vanish. We’re building this on a tiny budget, and we expect testers to participate and provide feedback. We’re really keen to get this cool gadget out into the world, and we expect testers to be genuinely interested and enthusiastic in helping that happen.

If you apply and are accepted, this is not a guarantee of receiving a test unit. If we think you aren’t acting in good faith or you don’t provide crucial details like measurements etc within a timely manner, we may choose another applicant. We’ll not do this lightly, but we reserve the right to remove any applicant from the testing programme.

  • Postage, customs and ownership.

Although we’ll likely be happy to, unless we agree with you directly that you can keep your test device, it will remain our property. If that happens, we’ll honour a standard warranty and you’ll be entitled to your statutory consumer protection rights from the date you were given ownership. If we need the device back, we’ll cover your postage and packing posts. We will declare packages sent to you honestly on customs paperwork, and we can cover small customs fees. If you are applying from within the United States of America, we cannot guarantee coverage of import duties for your test device. If you live in the US and are accepted as a tester, we’ll discuss this with you directly.

  • Radio frequency compliance

BeltBolt, like OpenShock and PiShock controllers, use Low Power Devices 433MHz standards for communication with shocker units. This is available licence-free almost everywhere in the world. In the United States of America, it is not by default licence-free but the shockers we use comply with FCC Part 15 regulations. You can check out the FCC compliance documentation here.

BeltBolt is based in the UK and the testing programme will be undertaken in compliance with UK law.
