Our current lead times

Many of our products are made just for you, using the measurements, colour preferences and configurations you ask for, and we do our very best to make sure your order is as perfect as possible. This means that unless you order just small accessories or parts that we have on-hand, there is a lead time before we can ship your goodies to you. For many of our products, they require time to naturally cure after we manufacture them due to our vapour smoothing process; this makes our parts shiny and strong, and suitable for everyday wear, and to give your parts the best characteristics before postage, they may need to cure for between 1 and 7 days, depending on the parts and our local weather.

Lead times on this page are updated at least monthly, using the average time taken in calendar days for an order to ship from our workshop after the order is placed. Some orders take longer than others, and certain products are shipped much faster, with others taking longer.

We don’t include orders that don’t include made-to-measure parts, like key-safes and spare parts, and we also don’t include fully bespoke orders from customers that want something that we don’t usually make. Orders that only include parts available off-the-shelf are usually shipped much more quickly, and custom order lead times depend exclusively on your needs and time taken to design, test and manufacture your items. Vinyl printing requests add lead time.

If you would like your order to arrive by a specific date, for example for a gift, please contact us and we’ll do what we can!

Keeping updated about your order status

We use an internal tracking system for every order we make, which keeps a record from when we get your order to when it leaves our workshop. You will get emails for each stage of our process.

Order received

We’ve got your order and it’s in our production queue

Order in production

We’ve reached your order in the production queue and have started work on it. If you have particular customisation on your order, for example unique graphics, we might contact you for more information, or if you have given us measurements which don’t make sense, we’ll reach out to you.

This order status covers everything from when we prepare your materials to when we set it aside for final curing.

We process many of our orders in batches for quality control and efficient use of time and energy. For printed products, they are printed in colour and type batches, and are vapour cured in colour batches. Application of cut vinyl designs to restraints requires a thorough cleaning of our workshop for best results, so these are progressed in batches once per week.

Order nearly ready for dispatch

We’ve completed working on your order and it’s almost time to ship it off to you! Many of our products require a complete final cure before being posted out due to our careful vapour-treating processes, to ensure your order arrives shiny and strong, and this can take between 1-5 days depending on the size and geometry of the parts, the colours they’re printed in, and our local weather.

Order shipped

We’ve shipped your stuff! You’ll get an email with a tracking code, unless you’ve chosen Royal Mail International Standard as your shipping method.

Keep up-to-date on country-specific postal issues

Our ability to post your order may be affected by strike action, natural disasters or other incidents affecting your country. You can check the Royal Mail International Incident Bulletin for current information on specific issues.

Royal Mail has discontinued their International Tracked and Signed service for parcels, now using their International Tracked service for all countries. We’ve reflected this on the website when ordering – your shipment will be processed by the postal network at the same speed as Tracked and Signed, but will not require a signature upon delivery.

How our packages arrive

Regardless of what method you use for postage, we always ship orders in nondescript black poly-mailer bags or cardboard boxes, which show no branding, logos or the name BeltBolt. Unless you specifically ask us to, we declare our items as handmade clothing accessories or imitation jewellery, depending on what’s in the box. Our return address references “BB Technology”, not BeltBolt, so nosy roommates shouldn’t suspect a thing.

Inside your packaging, you’ll find your order, a packing sheet and any relevant documentation.
